Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 13 (3) PIPL serves as the legal basis.

In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Article 13 (4) PIPL serves as the legal basis.

3. What personal data do we collect?

The personal data we collect, can include the following:

4. With whom do we share your personal data?

We share your personal data with the following categories of third parties:

  • HYROX Entities. All registration data will be accessible to HYROX Entities involved for the purposes of Event organization.
  • Service providers and advisors. (e.g. MIKA Timing GmbH, Vivenu) Third-party vendors and other service providers that perform services for us, which may include marketing campaign services, providing mailing or e-mail services, medical support, Event surveillance, time keeping, services related to the registration and organization of our Events, payment processing, data enhancement services or fraud prevention. If applicable, such service providers will, by appropriate data processing agreements, be bound to process personal data only on our behalf and under our instructions.
  • Event photographers. (e.g. Sportograf Digital Solutions GmbH) If you participate in our Events and have given us consent to do so, we will disclose your bib number, name, e-mail address and phone number to the Event photographer, who may contact you with photos from the attended Event.

5. Data erasure and storage duration

Personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Storage may also be necessary if this has been provided for by PIPL or other provisions to which the data processer is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or fulfillment of a contract. We anonymize data stored for technical reasons after 24 hours and delete it after 7 days at the latest.

6. Possibility of objection and removal

The user has the option to withdraw their consent to the processing of personal data at any time (see also Rights of data subjects). If the user contacts us by email, they can object to the storage of their personal data at any time. In such a case, the conversation cannot be continued.

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. Consequently, the user has no option to object.

7. Rights of the data subjects

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the PIPL and you have the following rights vis-à-vis the data processer:

  • Right to Deletion: Individuals have the right to request the deletion of their personal information under certain circumstances, such as when the processing purpose has been achieved or the consent has been withdrawn (Article 47).
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Data subjects can request the restriction of processing of their personal information in specific situations (Article 44).
  • Right to Data Portability: Individuals can request the transfer of their personal information to another data handler in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (Article 45).
  • Right to Object: Data subjects can object to the processing of their personal information, particularly in cases of direct marketing (Article 44).
  • Right to Automated Decision-Making: Individuals have the right to not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects or significantly affects them (Article 24).
  • Right to Explanation: Data subjects can request explanations about the rules and impacts of the processing of their personal information (Article 48).
