Our partner Sportograf will follow you during the entire race and capture your performance on camera by using facial recognition technology. You receive a digital photo package after the event as a souvenir of your HYROX race.

HYROX is the global fitness race for everybody, where each event follows the exact same race format, allowing for a comparable global leaderboard for all athletes. The race format starts with a 1km run, followed by 1 functional workout, repeated 8 times. You can rely on the protection and security of your personal data: The protection of your privacy when processing personal data is an important concern for HYROX World GmbH ("HYROX") and HaiLian Sports Culture (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.(“HaiLian”) (collectively referred to as “we”, “us”), which we take into account in all our business processes. With this data protection notice, we would therefore like to take this opportunity to explain to you the basic rules of our handling of personal data - which naturally takes place in compliance with the applicable data protection laws and regulations. We collect and use our users' personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. The collection and use of our users' personal data only takes place regularly with the user's consent. An exception applies in cases where prior consent cannot be obtained for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.

This privacy policy applies to all English-language pages of the china.hyrox.com domain. 

2. Legal basis for the processing of personal data

Insofar as we obtain the consent of the data subject for the processing of personal data, Article 13 (1) China Personal Information Protection Law (“PIPL”) serves as the legal basis for the processing of personal data.

When processing personal data that is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Article 13 (2) PIPL serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures.

Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 13 (3) PIPL serves as the legal basis.

In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Article 13 (4) PIPL serves as the legal basis.

The personal data we collect, can include the following:

4. With whom do we share your personal data?  

We share your personal data with the following categories of third parties: 

HYROX Entities. All registration data will be accessible to HYROX Entities involved for the purposes of Event organization. 

Service providers and advisors. (e.g. MIKA Timing GmbH, Vivenu) Third-party vendors and other service providers that perform services for us, which may include marketing campaign services, providing mailing or e-mail services, medical support, Event surveillance, time keeping, services related to the registration and organization of our Events, payment processing, data enhancement services or fraud prevention. If applicable, such service providers will, by appropriate data processing agreements, be bound to process personal data only on our behalf and under our instructions. 

Event photographers. (e.g. Sportograf Digital Solutions GmbH) If you participate in our Events and have given us consent to do so, we will disclose your bib number, name, e-mail address and phone number to the Event photographer, who may contact you with photos from the attended Event. 

Personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Storage may also be necessary if this has been provided for by PIPL or other provisions to which the data processer is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or fulfillment of a contract. We anonymize data stored for technical reasons after 24 hours and delete it after 7 days at the latest.

The user has the option to withdraw their consent to the processing of personal data at any time (see also Rights of data subjects). If the user contacts us by email, they can object to the storage of their personal data at any time. In such a case, the conversation cannot be continued.

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. Consequently, the user has no option to object.

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the PIPL and you have the following rights vis-à-vis the data processer:
